Kidsgrove got off to a flying start with an emphatic 4-2 away win against new comers Spalding Utd.

They were always in control and raced into an early lead in the 4th min thanks to a brilliant strike from
25yds from a Ashley Wooliscroft free kick which left the keeper helpless.
Kidsgrove went further in front in the 8th min when Matt Rhead flicked the ball on for Michael Lennon
who smashed the ball into the net.
the home side had no answer to the fast breaking "Grove" attacks and they extended their lead even
further in the 13th min when Alex Morris popped up in the box to score with a low shot.
Kidsgrove had numerous chances to extend their lead even further before the break.

Spalding started the second half much better and took advantage of a mistake in the Kidsgrove
defence to pull a goal back in the 49th min and Davies pounced to slot the ball into the net.
Spalding started to push forward but they were caught out in the 63rd min when "Grove broke quickly
and it was Michael Lennon who scored with abrilliant individual goal.
Spalding managed to pull another goal back in the 88th min through George.

But to no avail as the Grove ran out comfortable winners.
